DISCONTINUED: Lotus Elise 

The UK made sports car was also discontinued at the end of 2011 with the Mazda RX-8. The reason was because the NHTSA changed the airbag requirements, and the Elise failed to achieve them. The Elise only had 134 horsepower (a normal, not SI or MUGEN SI, Honda Civic has about 150 horsepower), but the car was extremely light. The next-gen Lotus Elise will return to the US market in around 2013.
