NEW TYPES OF AIRBAGS

Volvo has once again made another safety technology that will soon be followed by other automakers in the future, just like they did with the 3-point seat belt system. The new technology is called 'Pedestrian Airbag', where the car raises the hood by 0.4 inches and releases an airbag for the pedestrian. This is because in Europe, 14% of the accident victims are pedestrians, and Volvo wanted to make the impression 'if you get hit by a Volvo you won't die'. The new car to have this system is the upcoming Volvo V40, which is launching this September. This car will be the first car to have a pedestrian airbag. Kudos to Volvo for always being the top on safety features.
