NEW TDI-POWERED CAR: 2013 VW BEETLE

It's not that surprising that this car made into production, since this was shown at the Chicago auto show back in February. With unstable gas prices, a diesel-powered car might be the better way to go, since diesel is sometimes less expensive than regular gas/petrol. With this engine, the re-designed Beetle looks better, is more fun to drive (uses the 2.0 Inline-four with 140 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch transmission), and is economical, since it returns 32 miles on city, 41 miles on highway, with an average of 36.5 mpg. Prices start at $24,065 (with manual transmission) for USA, or $25,165 with the dual-clutch transmission, which is also known as DSG. This is the second cheapest diesel you can buy, right behind the Jetta TDI, which is $23,545. The 2012 Golf TDI ($25,005), 2012 Jetta SportWagen at 26,310, and the 2012 Touareg TDI at $47,745.
