NEW YORK AUTO SHOW: 2013 HYUNDAI SANTA FE & SANTE FE SPORT

*Note: Santa Fe is the orange car, Santa Fe is the silver car, and Veracruz is the black car.

In the New York Auto show, Hyundai released the production versions of the Sante Fas. Yes, now there are two versions of this car, the Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Sport.

Santa Fe Sport is the SUV with a shorter wheelbase, meaning that its length is shorter compared to the other version. It only gets the two choices of the inline-4 engines(2.4L and 2.0T) used in the Hyundai Sonata. By using only inline-4 (sonata's) engines, this car should get best-in-class fuel economy. This is also aimed for buyers that Hyundai calls 'pre-families' (also known as young couples), or post-familes. The Santa Fe Sport only can seat 5 people, due to the shorter length. However, don't get this car confused with the Tucson. The difference between the two cars are that the Santa Fe sport has more cargo volume, and can tow heavier objects.

Think of the Santa Fe as the replacement of the low selling, unpopular (presently) Hyundai Veracruz. The Santa Fe is the larger SUV that can seat 7 people. This car only comes with the V6 engine, therefore can tow more pounds than the Santa Fe Sport.

The Santa Fe Sport goes on sale in June, while the Santa Fe goes on sale in next January.
