UPCOMING: THE ACURA ILX

The Acura ILX is the next luxury car aimed for younger buyers with thinner wallets. There are both positives and negatives with this car, and we'll start out the the positives.

The interior looks like any Acura, with a navigation screen on the top of the climate control/audio control systems. It also looks luxurious with leather and carbon trim. The car was also designed to be lighter than the car that it is based on, the Honda Civic. and unfortunately, the good part ends there.

There are some details that distinguish this car from the Civic, but personally, they look exactly the same. The roofline looks very similar to the civic, same with the headlights. The tail lights looks like Acura just cut out the top portion of the Civic's and inserted right onto the car. The headlights seem to be different just because of the projector/HID beams. Technology on this car isn't that great either. This car uses the same 5-speed transmission first used on the 2006 Honda Civic, while competitors have 6-speeds and more. They even use the same engines used on the Civic and the Civic Si versions. The biggest problem? This car starts at $27,000, almost 30 grand.

In conclusion, this may be a good car if you don't care about price, looks, fuel economy, and driving ability. Just try comparing other cars such as the Lexus CT200h or even the other Acura luxury sedan, the Acura TSX.
