HOW ROAD NOISE AFFECTS HUMANS

One of the things people consider when they are buying a house is the fact that it has to be close to a major road or highway, freeway, etc. However, that isn't good for your health, as Danish Cancer Society (from Denmark) conducted an experiment and found that high levels of road noise could increase the chances of a heart attack, therefore death. They also found that sound as loud as 40 dB started to have a toll on people. 40 dB is as loud as a 'bird call' or 'the amount of noise heard in a library'. This can increase the chance of a heart attack because the people tend to get more stress and the high levels of noise disturb people from having a good nights' sleep. This is actually something to think about if you are buying or even renting, a new house.
