KIA K9 IN US: GOOD DECISION OR BAD?

You might have heard of Kia's new flagship, rear-wheel drive sedan currently sold in the home market, in South Korea. If you have never heard of this car, this car has nothing to do with dogs, despite its name of 'canine'. If you have watched Top Gear Korea's take on this car, you will know that this looks, drives, and feels like a BMW 7 series, with half the price. It has all of the safety features and technology the BMW has as well. Could this be the bargain of the century? In my opinion, yes, because of the reasons shown above. It is like the same thing as selling a regular shirt for $10 and a shirt with a coach mark on the back for $200. It doesn't make sense to buy the BMW. Of course, one could argue that 'BMW have a higher resale value and last longer' and that might be true. However, we should still appreciate Kia for making a car like this because if this car sells well, this could influence Kia to put its magic into the rest of the lineup, which would make it come out of the 'value brand' image.

UPDATE: The Kia K9 will be sold under the name of Kia Quoris, which is the product of the words 'quality' and 'core'. This car might and might not make it into the US, and only time will tell.
