RECALLED: 2007-2009 HYUNDAI SANTE FE AND 2012-2013 SONATA

The two Korean cars were recalled sometime the day before yesterday because of they both had some airbag problems.

The Sante Fe wasn't able to detect young or small adults. The OCS (Occupant Classification System) therefore wasn't able to sense that there was an adult on the passenger seat, so it wouldn't be able to deploy in a crash, which could seriously injure the adult, or even cause death. Therefore, Hyundai will fix (recalibrate) the system for free after owners have been notified. Current 2007-2009 Hyundai Sante Fe (all trims) owners could call 1-800-633-5151 with recall number 105.

Sonata SafetyThe Sonata was recalled because the side curtain airbags wasn't manufactured correctly. That means the airbag could inflate suddenly without the command of the ECU. This could injure the occupants or cause a visibility issue. From August, Hyundai will notify current 2012-2013 Hyundai Sonata (all trims) owners and will fix the issue free of charge. Owners can call Hyundai with the number 1-800-633-5151 with recall number 106.
